No one has that data. Instead the data of the three statistical studies I can find shows drowning, heart attack, and falls each account for about 25% of wilderness fatalities, with all other causes accounting for the remainder. When I ask, I find the publishers of the claim, private and governmental, are simply repeating what they hear or read with no supporting data.
